This past weekend, at the Antalya 2019 Hyundai Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Antalya Turkey, Paige Pearce and the rest of Team USA beat Russia in the Gold Medal Match by three points, 229-226.
According to the World Cup organization, the USA compound women won team silver in Stage 1 in Medellin, gold in Shanghai and a second gold in Antalya. 3 in a row is a phenomenal feat, and these ladies are well on their way to a 4th.
During the match, warm weather took a toll on both teams, and was all tied at 114 points after 12 of the 24 regulation arrows. In the third end, eights from the Russian team opened the door. Paige Pearce and Team USA slammed the door shut by shooting 58 to win by three clear points, 229-226.
Paige Pearce summed up the whole experience by saying:
“Shooting in the finals venue is always a great time, especially since in Antalya we shoot on the beach! I was proud of my performance with the Reckoning out there and stoked to be coming home with a team gold medal.”
